Mellow helps you wake up gently, without noise — including when it comes to your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you stay in control.

1. What We Collect

We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Any location or contact information
  • Any data that can personally identify you

We do collect the following session-related data (stored securely and pseudonymously):

  • The time you went to bed and when you woke up
  • The scene and level you used during a session
  • Duration of your session
  • Optional star ratings or feedback
  • App performance data (e.g. if a sound failed to play)

This data is stored under a randomised ID and cannot be linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use this data to:

  • Run the app reliably and deliver your wake-up experience
  • Show you a basic history of your past sessions
  • Improve the app’s soundscapes and wake-up flow

We do not:

  • Use your data for advertising or profiling
  • Track you across other apps or websites
  • Share your data with any third parties

3. Payments and Subscriptions

  • All subscriptions are handled securely by Apple via the App Store.
  • We do not process or store any payment or billing information.
  • We do not use any third-party SDKs, payment providers, or analytics tools.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored securely on our private servers.
  • We use standard safeguards to protect against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
  • The data is not tied to your identity and is only used to support your experience inside Mellow.

5. Your Rights

  • You can delete your session data at any time from within the app.
  • You can request a copy of your data or ask us to remove it completely by contacting us.

If you live in the EU, UK, or a region with privacy protections, you may also have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct or object to how it’s used
  • Request deletion
  • Export your data in a standard format

We respect these rights even if local laws don’t require us to.

6. Children’s Privacy

Mellow is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 16.

If you believe someone under 16 has used Mellow and shared data, please contact us and we’ll remove it.

7. Changes to This Policy

If anything changes in how we handle your data, we’ll update this policy and let you know clearly in the app. We’ll never reduce your privacy without giving you notice.
